4 Post Bed
Our vibrant 85-year-young client had always longed for a four-poster bed. When her husband passed away after a lengthy illness and she decided to redo her bedroom, with only herself to please. We selected a simple iron four-poster bed with a nail-head upholstered headboard, grounding it with a striking grey-and-white leopard-spotted rug. Angular painted console tables frame the bed, creating a clean, architectural balance. The artwork was curated from the extensive collection of black and white photographs she and her late husband had collected over the years. A bold tangerine accent color drawn from the client’s own 19th century costume design sketches hung between the bedposts brings a vibrant touch of personality to the bedroom. The color is echoed gently in the cozy reading chair by the window. Metal lamps and mirrors lend a modern edge, beautifully bridging the gap between mid-century design and the client’s traditional furnishings.
