Old Town Alexandria Rowhouse

In this historic Old Town Alexandria 20 wide rowhouse, space was maximized while preserving its character. The bedroom, limited by three doors, was transformed into a bright yet masculine retreat, a custom mirror reflecting river views, and rich greens and browns in tailored textiles. Original wide pine floors and oil paintings enhanced the timeless feel. The second-floor family room, just 9 feet wide, was designed to serve as a library, TV room, and guest space. A neutral queen sleeper sofa, carefully installed, provided comfort, while an armchair fit for the tall homeowner allowed for cozy reading by the fireplace. A historic city map, fitted wool broadloom carpet, and a cohesive color palette of taupe, blue, and red tied the home’s design together, ensuring both functionality and elegance.
